Purchase a DTC Homologation Certificate – Pedestrian Protection

At CarbonDriver, we provide official DTC homologation certificates  'pedestrian protection modifications' on vehicles in Switzerland. These certificates are essential to ensure your modifications are fully legal and can be registered with the Cantonal Road Traffic Office.

How DTC Certificates Work

Each DTC certificate is linked to a specific part and priced accordingly. Because each vehicle and modification is unique:

If you are purchasing a new part from us, the corresponding DTC will automatically match the part.

If you already own the part, you cannot purchase a DTC directly on the website. Instead, you must contact us by email first.

This allows us to:

Confirm which DTC certificate is required for your part.

Verify that the part comes from one of our approved suppliers.

Ensure that all documentation is correct and compliant, so your registration process will be smooth and problem-free.

Verify that all pedestrian protection requirements are properly documented and included.

How to Request a DTC

When sending us an email, please include the following information:

Vehicle category (make, model, year, etc.)

A clear photo of the part you want to homologate

The original supplier of the part

Our team will review your information and confirm:

Which DTC certificate applies to your part

That your documentation and part meet all pedestrian protection regulations

How to proceed with the purchase of the correct DTC

⚠️ Important: DTC certificates for pedestrian protection are not automatically compatible with every part or vehicle. Contacting us first ensures you receive the correct certificate and avoids any issues with registration or compliance.

Frequently asked questions

Will I have to pay VAT or customs fees on delivery?

No. Swiss VAT (8.1%) is added at checkout and we take care of customs clearance. When DHL delivers your parcel, there is nothing left to pay.

How long does delivery take?

Parts in stock arrive within 1–2 weeks, usually in about one week. Made-to-order parts take around 4–6 weeks, sometimes longer for some designs. The “Delivery time” box on the product page shows the current lead time, and we send you the DHL tracking number as soon as your part ships.

Where are the parts shipped from? How much is shipping?

Parts are shipped directly from the manufacturer to your door by DHL. The shipping cost is shown under the price on each product page and calculated automatically in the cart. Your homologation documents are sent separately by post from our office in Switzerland.

Is this part street legal in Switzerland?

Parts marked “Swiss Homologated” can be registered with a DTC (Dynamic Test Center) certificate. The DTC homologation is ordered as a separate item and costs CHF 100 less when you order it together with the part – the discount is applied automatically in the cart.

How does the homologation work?

After your order, enter your vehicle details (VIN, make/type, year – a photo of your registration document is enough) on our vehicle details page. We prepare and sign the documents and send them to you by post. You then present them to your cantonal road traffic office to update your registration document.

What about front lips, splitters and other front parts?

Front parts need a DTC “pedestrian protection” certificate, signed by the garage or body shop that installs the part. Parts marked “Homologation in process” are not certified yet – contact us before ordering.

Can you homologate a part I bought elsewhere?

Often yes, if we already hold a DTC report for the same part. Send us a photo of the part and of your registration document and we will tell you which homologation to order.

Will it fit my car? How is it installed?

Each product page lists the compatible models and years – if in doubt, send us your registration document and we will check. You can fit most parts yourself, but professional installation is recommended: our partner installers are listed on our Fitting & Partners page.

What if the part arrives damaged or doesn’t suit me?

Check the part carefully before fitting it. If it is damaged, email us photos and your order number as soon as you receive it and we sort it out with the manufacturer. If it doesn’t suit you, return it unfitted and in its original packaging to our Lausanne office for a refund (Satisfied or Cashback). A fitted part can no longer be returned.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, parts are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturing defects. Contact us and we handle the claim for you. Damage caused by fitting, stone chips or accidents is not covered.
